Reupped by popular demand here.
At least nine compilations of Cambodian rock have been released for western consumption over the last decade, making this incredibly rich pop from the 60s and 70s some of the most talked-about and listened-to around the world. But for every song now readily available on CD, there are 10-20 more that most people outside of Cambodia haven’t yet heard.
Over the last year I’ve scoured the furthest reaches of the Internet, pulling together a collection of nearly 1,000 songs, ranging from pretty darn okay to unimpeachably great. The selection I’ve put together here is an attempt to showcase the greatest of what has yet to see major distribution. Every song on this mix-CD is a personal favorite and, to the best of my knowledge, not otherwise available on any of the Cambodia Rocks, Cambodian Psych-Out, Groove Club, Dengue Fever or Sublime Frequencies compilations.
If I had a CD series of my own, this would be the first thing I’d release. Alas, I don’t. And, because I don’t, it looks like you’ve just saved yourself $16.95.

Thanks, gang.
Holly, I downloaded it a bit ago and am crawling my way through it. Some of it is taken from the Sublime Frequencies Cambodian Cassette Archives CD and a couple of others are well-known things on other comps, but there are some things I've never heard that are pretty great, such as Sinn Sisamouth's "Kal Oun Neang Rom Twist" and Mao Sareth's "Bar Bong Min Matha," which is utterly gorgeous--I'd definitely have put both of them on my own comp if I'd known about them.
Thanks for the tip!
Ros Sereysothea's Karen Carpenter cover is fantastic. Thanks Gary!

This blog is truly a goldmine.
Just discovered your excellent blog. Thanks for a great post. I've been dipping into Khmer Rock for several years now, but in the last 12 months or so, sice discovering the Cambodian Space Poject, the music from that era has taken over my life! Will be checking out as many of your other posts as time allows :-)
Hi! Unfortunately, the link is dead now. Please reupload! Thanks!
Looks like I only just missed it, too!
This has been a pretty consistently popular post, so I'll go ahead and reup, though it could take a few days. Patience!
